English Culture

We offer students the opportunity to combine their hobby or interest with learning English. Choose from walking, visiting gardens and country houses, British cooking, local history, shopping, sightseeing, antiques, theatre, art galleries and museums and we will arrange a lesson around the activity. We can also arrange horse riding at nearby stables.

Past students have:

• walked in the countryside around East Hagbourne, learning about the local architecture and history
• enjoyed a picnic on the River Thames or in the Cotswolds
• visited theatres, art galleries and museums
• visited Blenheim Palace, Basildon House, Upton House and their gardens; Bibury, Chipping Campden and Hidcote
• visited Stonehenge
• learned to cook traditional English dishes

These activities can be structured as lessons and so provide additional opportunities to learn English in a relaxed enjoyable way.
